I can’t count how many times I’ve suffered with a ping spike at exactly the wrong time. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing Valorant, Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six, Apex Legends, a ping spike right as you go to peek a corner is brutal.

Is Ping Killing Your K/D/A
Have you ever unloaded a full clip directly at a target, and nothing happens, then they one tap you? Me too. This is due to high ping.
What’s happening is your shooting at the target on your screen, but your ping is so bad that even though you can see the target, the server doesn’t register that you can see them.
So when you’re shooting at them, the bullets arent hitting because your network is too slow to send the data. Then you get hit in return because your targets data is being sent faster than yours.
This is one of the most frustrating feelings in the gaming world, if only there was a way to fix this. (P.S, There is!)
But I Have Fast Internet, Why Am I Lagging
I used to get so mad, saying things like: “I have 500mbps download, why the f*ck aren’t my hits registering?”
Turns out, ping has nothing to do with how fast your network is.
Ping is determined by how far data is sent, meaning network routing is how your ping is determined. You could have a gold plated wifi router running on pixie dust and dreams, if your routing is crap, so is your ping.
